PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) roofing and waterproofing membranes are cold applied seamless fully reinforced membrane systems that are “built” on site.  These are incredibly durable membranes with resistance to various chemicals, uv, ponding water, and, as a seamless finish, they are very resistant to root penetration. The membrane technology uses catalysts to allow for control of the curing rate of the membrane system.  Membranes can be installed and fully cured ready for service within an hour.  These membranes exhibit tenacious adhesion and are compatible with most other generic membrane systems and substrates.  They are often ideal as accessory membranes for difficult to detail roof features such as complicated penetrations – structural steel, tight pipe groupings, etc.  Also, they are often the only durable solution for complicated or curved aesthetic substrates.

Nu-Tech has been working with these membrane systems for several years for everything from detailing multiple geothermal pipe penetrations through foundation walls to pond liners to complete roofs where complex curved architecture made sheet membranes unsuitable.
